Upgrading Presentations through Design, Constraint, and Play!

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Are you tired of student presentations that begin and end with slides crammed to the brim with text and a small cat photo placed here or there for engagement? Are you looking for a way to utilize the tool already available to you - Google Slides - for improved and upgraded presentations? Then look no more! In this workshop, participants will explore features of Google Slides - presentation mode with backchannel commenting, utilizing the background of a slide, and auto-advance - as well as related tools such as Slides Carnival to create engaged and upgraded presentations. We will create a series of presentations around the same topic to work with different presentation styles and engagement techniques. Learn first hand how to upgrade presentations for your students and for yourself!

The outcomes of this work shop include the following:
*Participants will acquire a working knowledge of Google Slides and the Presentation Mode with Backchannel comments
*Participants will acquire a working knowledge of how to use various levels of content in Google Slides (foreground and background) to change the presentation look and feel for a more image based presentation style.
*Participants will explore Slides Carnival to work with innovative and beautifully designed templates for Presentations.
*Participants will acquire a working knowledge of how to use auto-advance features in google slides to create their own ignite-style presentation.
