Educational technologies can radically transform educational practices if teachers are willing to embrace the possibilities. However that transformation will be non-existent if teachers view educational technologies such as Google Apps for Education as ways for re-creating non-digital work in a digital environment. In this conversation, we will discuss strategies for creating digital native assignments. Starting with examples of typical assignments given to students, we will discuss digital possibilities and tools (such as Google Apps for Education, hyperlinks, embedding, and so on) to create similar activities that make full use of the web. Don’t just turn that handout into a Google Doc with tables. Make use of hyperlinks, embedded videos, drawings, digital collaboration and more! Let’s put our interdisciplinary minds together and create anew for our students!
